How long does it take to form a habit?
It is believed that it takes 21 days to create a habit and 90 days to make it part of your lifestyle. After you complete the 90 days, the habit will be as much a part of your daily lifestyle as eating breakfast.
How to form a habit
The process of building a habit can be broken down into four steps: cue, craving, response, and reward. Breaking it down into basic parts can help you to understand what a habit is, how it works, and how to improve it.
Problem phase.
Cue - You wake up.
Craving - You feel hungry.
Solution phase.
Response - You eat.
Reward - You satisfied your hunger.
Habit - Eating breakfast becomes associated with waking up.
